Lord above, what’s this? Well, if you are of a certain age then the words Spacemen 3 should pop up in your mind. From the opening lush Farfisa notes on (You Shine) Brighter than Light through to the feedback-drenched guitar blastings of Baby Baby Baby, this could be a lost Spaceman LP. However, as I’ve often stated, out and out reverence is no bad thing. It ain’t what you do and all that…

Killer tracks are the brilliant eight minutes of Nothingness, which ebbs and flows and climaxes spectacularly in a sea of noise, and Kill/Shot/Love with its wholesale borrowing of the Interzone riff of Unknown Pleasures. The last track, Perfect Grace is a major league bliss-out too, and possibly the best track on the LP.

Despite the sheer, brazen obviousness of this LP, it’s damned brave and in yer face; cocksure and, well, exciting. You’d do worse than give it a play.
