September News

Hullo again! Incendiary’s footsoldiers are back from various festivals round Germany & the Low Countries, tired, footsore, but exhultant. And, (of course) brimful of tales to tell. Before I carry on sounding like I’m writing for a 1920s DC Thompson comic, I’d better say that you can read reports of Haldern (Germany), Lokersefeest and Dourfeest (Belgium), and Lowlands (Nederlands) within the confines of this very magazine. How perfectly thrilling!

Actually, we’ve had a lot of fun; and we’ve got lots of gossip and interviews, a great one with Alex Kapranos, and one with them Yorkshire lads the Cribs. We missed out on the Polyphonic Spree, due to extreme drunkenness, which actually may be a good thing, as we could have lost half of our editorial team to their ranks had the meeting gone ahead…

It’s not just festivals this month, there’s also a welter of great albums reviewed; Super Furries, Stars, and Baxter Dury to name but three. So we’ve been busy. In fact so busy, I have spent most of my factory break times writing the bloody mag up; (how noble, I hear you say).

Enough! Go forth! Use the shortening nights and the golden light as a backdrop for some reading and reflection oh fellow travellers!
