Hullo there!

I hope this finds you all well and compos mentis, we’ve been hiding somewhat, taking holidays, that kind of thing. However this break hasn’t stopped us from putting together a cracking set of stuff for June, please do take some time to read the interviews with the legendary Green Gartside and the wondrous Cara Dillon as they are splendid, but most of all, check out the wonderful photographs from British Sea Power’s Sheffield and Nottingham gigs, as it does seem that they have risen to a new level of surrealistic behaviour. Bless them.

What should you be looking forward to in June? Well, the Paradiso showcases Goran Bregovic and the sound of Adrian Borland, (late singer of the Sound) both great nights out I’d say. Oh, and for the trendies, there’s Music in My Head in The Paard van Troje, replete with Editors and Maximo Park. Luckily John Cale is playing too.

I strongly recommend the new King Tubby compilation as well as the smashing CSS LP too, the perfect antidote to too much sugary guitar pop. Check out the reviews.

Well, that’s it for another month, its time to treat my bruises from the madness that as Sheffield..

Oh thanks for the emails by the way… I do promise to rant about something new very soon in Editor’s Rant, I just have to find a new target. I am allowed to be content just once in a while…
