Sorry things have been somewhat tardy on the news front; there is, for once, a very good reason for this. We are having a party on the 28th to commemorate the first anniversary of the festival, but rather than keep it to ourselves, we foolishly decided to invite all of you, which in turn meant we couldn’t just go down the pub. No, instead we’ve hired out the Paard van Troje, booked the UK’s hottest live act – The Rakes – and got loads of our artistic pals to create films, dejay sets and full size oil paintings for you to marvel at.

All this activity has conseqequently left me rather short of time to write this. But no matter…
Another gig to look out for is the marvellous London Calling on the 4th & 5th of November. As most of you know, London Calling is a celebration of what is new and exciting in the music scene and is hosted yet again at the Paradiso, Amsterdam. This year’s highlights have to be Brakes and Mystery Jets, two very interesting, independent bands, whose refusal to play the corporate game is a welcome change at present.
Hot news is that, following on from interviewing the Right Honourable M.E. Smith, this mag has the chance to interview Babyshambles’ front man and tabloid troubadour in residence, Mr Peter Doherty. Well, at least we hope so. Whatever happens you can go and watch Babyshambles play the Paradiso on the 22nd October (next week kids). Don’t take any innocent and refreshing sherbert dip though as you might get wrongfully arrested by policemen posing as tabloid journalists…
