Okay, as the LP says this is a collection of odds and ends from this Dutch "EMO" band, (covering the last 5 years’ material, I get the feeling that this release is designed as a bit of a "full stop" on their previous work); outtakes, live tracks some new songs, and its all very enjoyable thrashy stuff. I particularly enjoyed the screaming bit on Save the Best for Last. This lot feel as if they are going for the hearts of teenagers, as there are plenty of entreaties to a young girl’s or foppy boy’s better nature. Still there’s enough choppy guitar work and screaming to offset the earnest boy-girl stuff. And to be fair, the singer has a very good, powerful voice that doesn’t ever sound whining or self congratulatory. It’s heavy power pop rather than EMO. Can’t say fairer than that. And, to be honest, anyone who has a song called What If Oslo Really Failed can’t be all bad.
