Everything is unobtrusive, nothing is mixed to jump out at you; in some ways it’s brilliant soundtrack for a lethargic morning.
Badun – Tandoori Tentacle
A very good EP this, but if you don’t dig noodling, I’d steer clear.
Effectively 4 tracks of low key, spacey fusion (with a very big nod towards the futuristic electronic sounds of Studio G), Tandoori Tentacle does veer towards the experimental in the last track, Silk Office, which relies on one or two very quiet voice samples and some nice sliding effects. And Cola Jeff has a nice line in Conny Plank slobber/slacker effects. Everything is unobtrusive, nothing is mixed to jump out at you; in some ways it’s brilliant soundtrack for a lethargic morning. I can also see that it could do your head in, but each to their own!
