Jonas Reinhardt is back with more reinterpretations of the 1970’s Mittel Europa electronic scene. This time around, the music is more widescreen than his last LP, and my feeling that he must worship Harmonia is compounded in that he seems (probably unconsciously) to have mirrored the leap from Musik… to Deluxe (and maybe Zuckerziet to Sowiesoso – listen to Orbita Dicter for reference). It’s not all Dusseldorf though; at times he gets close to the Froese/Schulzte axis; Wastrel Eyelid is awash with sprawling, romantic synths and an attitude not seen since Atem.

At times there’s a lot of power: Atomic Bomb Living is a thumping, poppy instrumental that sweeps you up. It’s verging on that Utopian Equinoxe-era Jean Michel Jarre feel too, though this is music that is equally in thrall with the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
Elsewhere we’re in deep outer space. Only You Can Achieve Nitrogen and Near A Mirrored Pit Viper float around in capsules of liquid sound, propelled by the most murmuring of heartbeats and gentle of melodies. Highlight of the LP is the rinky dink of the title track, which isn’t far off taking the muse that propelled Rother’s Dino and pushing it for all its worth. A truly fabulous track and definitely one to listen to whilst speeding through Central Europe on the night train.
