Here’s one of those funny little albums that seems to succeed despite itself. It’s not particularly impressive technically, it sounds like it was recorded in a tin can and it feels very, very amateurish and yet….and yet……you can’t help but like it. In fact, you may well fall head over heels in love with it. Why? Because it’s laden with infectious melodies and a cheeky sense of itself. You get the impression that hidden deep within the heart of this album are a bunch of classic little pop songs and yet if they were recorded any differently it would probably ruin them.
King Post Kitsch have bags of charm, a keen sense of melody and just enough talent to hold it all together. Sure, you think if one of them sneezed the song could fall apart but, like I said, they’re charming.
Don’t bother fighting it, just give in to King Post Kitsch and enjoy yourself. They’re not big, they’re not clever but they’re a hell of a lot of fun.
