As strange as the band’s history is, I’m not repeating it here; it involves Falmouth and animal masks but that sort of flippancy should not keep you from investigating their music.

Now which Julian Cope track does the opening And Now I Know That I Am Ugly remind me of? No matter, its thick chunky chords are a treat and this bracing workout is over far too soon.
The second track, Still Dressing Like A Child, is a lovely blissout built on waves of synths and noise whereas Sex Dreams of Mary (Again) is a marvellously floaty barrage balloon of sound. At this point you begin to feel the band’s main aim is to coax you into a state of pleasant, almost post-coital torpor. I Was Not Made to Crush My Own is another warm wash of analogue synths and effects: though the track has more or a noticeable arrangement: at times its jaunty psychedelia reminded me of the stuff Glide does.

A very enjoyable listen.
