It kind of gives a kind of nod Lonnie Donnegan too. I think… Oh, and the whole experience is over in 5 minutes flat. As I said it’s fun stuff, nowt wrong with that.

Here’s some fun. A nice, whimsical a mix of folk saltiness and Bonzo Dog stylings, you can hear they’re from Lancashire or thereabouts just by the way they sound. The main track, Spike (what a 50’s name that is) is an appealing low-budget version of the doo whop pop so ruined by ELO – this time over a clicketty clacketty beat. The flipside, Yes That’s Right We’re Stealing Your Soul is another barber-shop style lament – equal parts dinky 50’s pop and kitchen-sink drama. It’s basic stuff mind; the vocals are expressive and candid, and there’s a literary element bursting to get out. It kind of gives a kind of nod Lonnie Donnegan too.
