Oh Boy. Oh boy, oh boy. I think I’m falling in love. Maybe it’s the voices, which are angelic and sweet. Or maybe it’s the music, which is joyful and playful. Or maybe it’s just all of that? Yes, it’s probably all of that. Boy are a Swiss/German band of two young ladies and they have crafted an album of such sweet sugary confection I’ve been bouncing around the living room for weeks with a ridiculous grin on my face. Mutual Friends is hypnotic. It does nothing more than make you want to skip through its forty five minute running time. It’s a delight, and there’s not a warble to be heard anywhere.
Jaunty, playful, folky, sweet, affectionate, crisp, clear – I could go on. Mutual Friends is an album to embrace. An album to give your heart to and an album to fall in love with. It will repay you in spades.
