Messy, C86 rehearsal room stuff, hung up on Lord knows what irrelevances and copping every bit of the Vaselines’ & The Shop Assistants’ back catalogues when it can; I love it. There are a lot of bands around right now that have a similar vibe, but I wish they made records like this. Introducing possesses a big heart, buckets full of humour, and it doesn’t hang around. Frankly why should it?
Thrashy chords propel tracks like Yell in the Air and Over There along with some brio. It’s got a Postcard vibe about it too; (that treble on Short Sleeves at Night)… I also like the fact that singer seemingly can’t be arsed where the vocals land up, key-wise. Near-enough is good enough. Still, there’s enough here to rise above the deliberately messy; Mythic is a cracking track, and has a brat-squeal attitude that Polystyrene or Ari Up would have been chuffed with.
