I like this record. The A-side Idiot Bouncing is an unholy fusion of angular Josef K paranoia and chunky, glammed up chord shapes straight from the John McGeogh school of guitar riffing: (and some phaser too, just in case), all topped with a stupid, stupid, stupid chorus. It’s another small tonic for the times. Thrill your colleagues by saying “Idiot bouncing”, or “Do you Wanna bounce?”, over and over again….
The B-side is called Trousers, a more determined, structured but no less noisy offering. A cod choir adds a bit of Glam, T-Rex style, or a bit of Euro-sleaze, Plastic Bertrand style. You pick. I’m none the wiser what trousers have to do with any of the music, but fair enough, as I said, I like this record. A lot.
