Fun stuff! You could be annoyed by the fact that it sounds like every C86 or Phil Spector record going, but I don’t care, it’s well-crafted pop music.  Plus it doesn’t outstay its welcome, it’s crisp, clear and over in about 20 minutes. The opener, I Don’t Want to Call You Baby, Baby, takes Babies by Pulp and a dash of Mary Chain and makes a very pleasant pop song indeed. For its part, Trumpets of Death sounds like a b-side of a Spector band, or something Richard Gottehrer would knock together.

And to be honest, really not much more can be added to this review in terms of describing the music: the tracks are either up tempo (To Mess with Dynamite & It’s In My Blood) or not, some are sugar sweet, some snarl. Some sound ridiculously like other things… Most, if not all tracks take a sonic bow in the direction of the artists I have mentioned.  But so what? It’s all good, clean fun.
